Religion and wank

I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching, and coming to the conclusion that I may possibly, just a little, be more Christian than I want to admit in my own views. So I’ve been reading up on Christianity on teh Interwebz, and have realized that if early Christianity had had benefit of the Internet and Fandom Wank people would definitely be calling them batshit crazy.
Martin Luther would have, instead of posting his problems with the Catholic church on the door to said church, have crossposted his rants to every single Christian community on the Internet, provoking epic flame wars among the devout.
The Puritans would have sent passive aggressive emo posts to the England-based Episcopal communities complaining about how they were being oppressed. They'd then start their own community, and Jonathan Edwards would have posted his “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”, which all the Puritan LJers would have linked to in a huge meme.
And those are the easy ones. The wank generated from whether or not the Trinity is an appropriately Biblical concept seems to have been fairly epic, at least according to Wikipedia. Hell, it probably still is, I just can't be bothered to look on any Christian LJ communities.
